Spinal cord stimulation (SCS)

Spinal cord stimulation (SCS) is the most commonly used implantable neurostimulation technology for the management of pain syndromes.

SCS delivers a low-voltage electrical current continuously to the spinal cord to block the sensation of pain. It can be used to treat chronic pain syndrome and other pain disorders. This is usually only utilized after patients have not had adequate relief from traditional pain medication and management strategies.
