“Dr. David Roytowski was recommended to me by my physician Dr. Hans Neethling after

the diagnosis of lumbar spinal stenosis. Naturally one is hesitant and a tad fearful of any

procedure involving the spinal column and nervous system/roots. Dr. Roytowski’s calm

reassuring demeanor, and detailed explanation immediately put those fears at rest. He

explained the procedure in logical and understandable terms, with great patience. His

administrative ladies San-Mare, Nikita and Tilana made the pre-authorisation and

dealings with medical aid a breeze.

I went into theatre with full confidence that Dr. Roytowski will be able to rectify my spinal

stenosis. Before being wheeled into theatre he again explained the procedure, and

allayed any doubts and fears. Similarly the anaesthetist Dr Nick Meyersfeld inspired

confidence and showed compassion.

Dr. Roytowski is a consummate professional and I highly recommend him, without any

hesitation as a neurosurgeon. I do feel I was in the best hands for my procedure. After

the operation he checked in on me twice a day. Never rushed, always reassuring and

encouraging in his manner and speech.

I’m still in the recovery stage, but already moving around without any lower back, gluteal

and leg/calf pain and discomfort. In my opinion the operation was a success. I am

extremely grateful to Dr. Roytowski for taking me on as a patient, and performing a

successful laminectomy.”
